RAMP FOR FRONT STEPS

I have recently been forced to move to a bungalow, having recently been forced into using a wheelchair outside. Don't get me wrong, I love my wheelchair as I can now do many more things without becoming exhausted! The trouble is the bungalow entrance...there are three steps. Not massively high, but by my calculations, they would require a 6' ramp (perhaps longer) to get up them. The council have already refused to alter the steps at heir expense and saw that, although I am entitled to submit a plan to them, all the others have been turned down. So a ramp is has to be. But there is no way I can afford one!

Does anyone have an idea - or have they made - of how I could construct a removable ramp?

Hi Jamie,

Blackwood Foundation shared your problem over Facebook and there was a lady who gave this reply:

'My father built my son's ramp with decking - it cost around £250. He was a builder though!'

I know this involves extra cost but perhaps this is more affordable than a ramp. Depending on who you ask, there are joiners or other handymen who can do specific commissions for a relatively low price.
