Just back from a wonderful holiday, but sad to say the travelling was as per usual a nightmare.
what is wrong with these airlines that cannot comply with the requests made to their special assistance dept, why have this dept and then ignore what you have requested, makes me so angry.
Got to airport and they had no knowledge of my requests, showed them my letter confirming I had indeed made the requests, but still got offered seats halfway up the plane, no good to me as I need to be near toilet and requested front row with extra leg room to allow hubby to lift me out when necessary, fought my corner and got row two, still not enough room to get lifted in and out though, was point blank refused front row even offered to pay extra for this but was told these are medical seats so cannot be paid for, ok what part of this is what I require for my medical needs dont they understand.
Get on plane to find front row seats are being occupied by fully mobile people, asked them if they booked them and they said no we were one of the last to book in an these seats are kept to the end, goodness knows why.
I have emailed airline as i do after every holiday about the same issue, I have never received a reply yet from any of my complaints.
Maybe some of you have experienced this or know how to overcome these obstacles, any helpful advice would be gratefully received

Thanks Stephen, had a lovely time when we got there. WE travelled with Thomas Cook airlines, I emailed them again!!! and asked for a reply this time, oh I got one ok but to tell me to call customer services as I had already travelled, ggrrr. replied to that reiterating that I want to know what to do to avoid this situation but no reply to that, they got my money so they are not interested now, makes me so angry that they cannot even let people know how to get the help they require
