I am a wheelchair user & wheelchairs can be very uncomfortable to use, and I do believe it would be reasonably simple to put suspension on the chair. I know that there is not much available on the market, I've not seen anything myself that looks in any way adequate. I would like to be able to do this myself although I do not have the ability any longer, I'm sure there are brilliant engineers somewhere that will be able to do this.
I do believe we could take a seat from any industrial vehicle, tractor or maybe a lorry which all have suspension. I think if we put this on a wheelchair, millions of people around the world could benefit. It is something that could be locked in one position for those not needing suspension, or may be for when you first get seated, and then the lock could be released giving you full or half suspension.

Hi Paul,
There are a range of replacement wheels available with suspension built in see this feature with links to the manufacturers website

Hi Paul,
Yeah wheelchair suspension seems to be one of the big issues in wheelchair manufacturing that is being largely overlooked. We recently talked about a charity called Remap who have volunteers who, you would think, have been asked about this before.
Also, have you seen this on bespoken yet? http://www.bespoken.me/forum/topics/the-acrobat-the-wheel-reinvented
