Reuse and recycle to help others in Uganda: donate unwanted mobility equipment at the 30th Mobility Roadshow!

The 30th anniversary Mobility Roadshow is helping to support The Uganda Polio Project - a UK-Uganda partnership working towards a sustainable, long-term improvement in the lives of Ugandan people with disabilities.

With a small but committed team of multi-disciplinary, volunteer health professionals, the Project’s aim is to recycle orthoses and mobility aids from the UK for use by disabled people in Uganda. This also includes machinery, tools and materials so that orthoses can be adapted to individual needs. All treatment is delivered free of charge. In addition, the transfer of medical knowledge between the UK and Ugandan medics is actively promoted.

A container full of unused/recycled/donated goods was shipped to Uganda earlier this year; to enable this work to continue in 2014 the UPP team needs more goods, and that’s where Mobility Roadshow visitors and exhibitors can help.

If you have anything to donate – from walking sticks to wheelchairs, aids to daily living, callipers and shoes that are no longer needed, the UPP team would love to have them. Please do help if you can and bring any donated equipment with you to the MobilityRoadshow where a collection point will be in the car park.
