Rail Awareness Open Day at Edinburgh Waverley on May 3rd

There's an interesting and useful (and free!) event coming up at Edinburgh's Waverley Station on the afternoon of May 3rd.

It's a Rail Awareness Open Day, organised by the ScotRail Alliance, and is all about making rail travel easier for people with mobility difficulties.

In the words of the organisers:

Rail Awareness Open Day is an information event to promote what we do for rail users with reduced mobility or simply those who need assistance with their journeys. It provides a learning opportunity to those with reduced mobility on the level of service available and the support they can receive from ScotRail when planning and undertaking their journey by train. The event is open to all – including parents with young disabled children, older people with disabilities, elderly customers, carers and companions of people with reduced mobility.

The event will run from 1pm until 3pm on May 3rd and will take place at Platform 4 where there will be a train for demonstration purposes.

Anyone wishing to attend should register by sending an email to Equality.Advisory@scotrail.co.uk
