In addition to calling out the appaling stated of design of the majority of currently offered wheelchairs it throws open a challenge to an open source hardware project to use real, currently available modern technologies to produce a product that is bot more performant and available at a far lower price in the market so making a truly suitable electric wheelchair available to more people who need one.
