Model and Influencer Samanta Bullock Joins wheelAIR as Official Brand Ambassador

Glasgow based healthcare start-up, wheelAIR, have secured the model, athlete and influencer Samanta Bullock as their second official brand ambassador.

Originally from Brazil, Samanta has had a glittering career as a former Paralympic tennis player, a successful model and style icon as well as a key representative for many disability inclusion groups.

Samanta started using the wheelAIR on her wheelchair in London this year to stay cool during the extremely hot weather we have been having.

The wheelAIR backrest cushion uses inbuilt fan technology to subtly cool the users back and core by taking away excess heat and moisture. The innovation also offers significantly more support than traditional backrests.

Staying cool is important for Samanta as she navigates her busy London lifestyle. She was using the wheelAIR recently to enjoy Wimbledon and the British Tennis Open in Nottinghamshire.

She mentioned, “I have used the wheelAIR so much more than I thought I would since receiving it. It has helped me stay cool in a meeting where the air con was broken, during an insanity gym class and also during a photoshoot! It is really going to change the game for wheelchair users.

“When talking to Corien, it was clear that the wheelAIR brand is really in line with my own ethics on sustainability… which sealed the deal for me deciding to represent them.”

For wheelAIR, working with Samanta will help them in their goal of communicating with fashion and style markets. With a background in textiles, wheelAIR Managing Director – Corien Staels, has designed the wheelAIR to be stylish and sustainable as well as extremely functional.

She commented, “Samanta is a style icon not just for the disabled community, but for our community as a whole. The fact that she wants to represent us is a huge vote of confidence in the appearance of the design, which I am ecstatic about!”

She continued, “I believe that there is no reason why disability products shouldn’t look good as well as solve a problem. That’s why when designing our backrest, I have never compromised on the appearance.”

Samanta and Corien hope by working together to further spread awareness of inclusivity, accessibility and the importance of keeping disability products fashionable.
