Blackwood Homes and Care were honoured this week at the Herald Scottish Digital Business Awards 2018 taking home the Charity & Social Enterprise Award.

This is a tremendous honour and recognises Blackwood’s outstanding work and dedication to using technology and innovation to help people live life to the full. It especially acknowledges our work in designing and developing our own digitally enhanced care system, CleverCog™ and the state of the art, beautiful, accessible and affordable Blackwood House which is fully connected through home automation.

The awards dinner was held in Glasgow’s Radisson Blue hotel near the banks of the river Clyde. Following a delicious dinner, the host went straight into the categories. Here is the moment we were waiting for…

Present on the night of the awards ceremony in Glasgow was Mandy McKenzie, a Blackwood customer and one of CleverCogs’™ most enthusiastic users. Mandy started using CleverCog™ three years ago when it was first trialled in Stirling. Without any prior experience of digital technology, she amazed everyone with her skill and her dedication to learning to use the system. She immediately loved using her CleverCogs™ device and uses it regularly to chat to her sister Mandy using the video calling app.
