We see a Scotland where being active is a way of life, where health and wellbeing is at the heart of society, making a positive impact on people and communities.
We are delighted to confirm the venue is the National Sports Training Centre in Largs, Ayshire on Tuesday 19th September 2017. Invitations to customers and members have been sent and we are thrilled by the response we have received.
It is set in the backdrop of Largs, surrounded by beautiful forestry with a magnificent view of Millport. The centre is the first UK residential sports centre of its kind, designed for inclusivity with facilities for all levels of physical and sensory ability.
If you have attended any of our AGMs in the past 4 years, you will know that we do things a little differently! We aim to give people a chance to explore new leisure activities, socialise with friends and make new ones and enjoy some recreation time.
In the Sports Hall and Studio our guests will have a chance to see all the action of a wheelchair basketball game, archery, boccia, PowerChair football and of course take part! We will have a host of coaches on hand if people want to try any of the activities and will have information on how they can get active in their local area.
The Innovation Hub will have our virtual reality experience and have our gaming app The Huburbs for people to play and give feedback on.
The AGM will be an opportunity for our customers to ask questions and hear a message from new Chair of the Board, Max Brown. We will also be announcing the winners of the 2017 Blackwood in Bloom Gardening Competition and the Helping Hands Award - we had our highest number of entries this year for both!
We look forward to seeing our customers, members and staff for a fun filled, adrenaline pumping, engaging day!
