I thought i would point a little tip out, I have issue with my hands and feet and can suffer bad pain with my walking stick, but i found a good solution via baseball batting gloves, most come with padding on palm and around thumb area and have been a god send when using my stick. 

I bought a pair of nike ones from JD sport for £25 they have been a life saver so i thought i would add this tip for people in the same situation as me.
