Stylish floor lift that you would happily have in your home...

This modern twist on a simple adaptation was recently flagged up for me. These built-in floor lifts are not brand new admittedly but it’s gratifying to see that this version of it is designed to fit in with the stylish flooring that you would welcome in the home.

Ideal for overcoming small steps of up to 1 meter in height, the PR9 cantilever step lift by Panova can hold up to 250 kg and the platform size can be fitted to user requirements. The finish on the platform can be matched to the floor it’s going into.

What I find particularly interesting about this adaptation however is that it follows a growing trend to take the ugly clinical look out of adaptations and respecting the individuality and style of the user. Some people need adaptations, but no one wants their home to scream out “I have a disability” to everyone visiting. What do you think?

Unfortunately, I couldn’t find a video of that particular lift pictured above but the same model (that was installed in a London office) can be seen here…
