Hello everyone,
I'm a new member to this online community so please bare with me.
My name is Brendan Whiting i live in Kent, i am a 3rd year Psychology student studying from the University of East London. As part of my 3rd year criteria i have to complete my own research project.
I have been living my entire life with a disability, being born without my right hand, and this has always made me curious to explore how/if others feel a similar or different way to i do about how i experience the world around me. As a result i decided i wanted to use the opportunity to conduct my own research in the area of disability. There is existing literature in this area but i believe it is overlooked and has the potential to be expanded.
If you would like to take part then please read below for the criteria and brief description of the process involved. If you do not wish to take part or can not due to criteria restriction then thank you for taking the time to read this anyway as i fully appreciate it.
Criteria: I am looking for males between the age of 18 -35/40 (this is a guideline and can be bended) with life long disabilities. I should also be clear that for the purpose of the research disability in this case refers to physical disabilities i.e. loss of limb/extremity etc rather than a health condition or a mobility issue related to a condition.
Process: If you wish to take part all you need to do is attend one interview in which i will ask you a range of questions and you will answer to the best of your ability. The interview will be recorded so that i can transcribe and analyse the data but there will be STRICT confidentiality protocols in place. For further explanation i have my official invitation sheet that i will be attached to this thread. Attachment is at the bottom of this message via a link.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask me, either in response to this thread or alternatively e mail me at: u1134367@uel.ac.uk
This is something i am passionate about and any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
