I visited the Naidex/Independent Living Exhibition today at Glasgow's SECC.  I have been to the SECC on numerous occasions and was considerably let down today with the parking situation.  There is a new entertainment arena being built close by and a new multi-storey car park.  'Glasgow City Parking' in their wisdom have decided to not use the SECC's car park and sent all cars who arrived there, along the road to the multi-storey.  It took me 10 minutes to get to the alternative car park due to the building works going on.  Once in the multi storey, the only obvious exit was up to the first level to use the walk way over to the SECC.  Once up there, there was a sign telling us to use the exit from the ground floor.  No mention of the fact that the walk way isn't even completed yet!!!  No more signs to tell us in which direction to get to the SECC.

Once inside the SECC, I made a complaint along the lines of - How on earth can you put on an exhibition for the disabled, and refuse them access to a car park with an easier entrance?  What if I had taken my disabled child with me?  It was pouring with rain (not the staff's fault), but sending everyone to a building which can only be entered to from across a busy main road was ridiculous to say the least.  Not much thought was put into the parking arrangements.  What I was told was, once the multi storey is full, only then will the SECC's (old) car park be used!  I was smiling at the guy I was raging at when he passed the blame on to Glasgow City Parking which amused him too.  The power has certainly gone to someone's head and made everyone else visiting an otherwise fantastic show confused as to where to park.  Better signage for a start would have made this trip a far better experience!

In conclusion - did any one else have a problem with todays' experience? Or was it just me???

Many thanks for reading
