A new card, designed to make using public transport easier for those with disabilities, has been introduced in the Highlands and Islands.
The HITRANS Thistle Assistance Card makes it easy for people to quickly communicate what extra help they need on their journey and allows them to tailor it to their individual needs.
Users can customise the cards to suit their needs with peel-off stickers that show different disabilities and the type of help they may require.
It is hoped that this will help anyone who has difficulty using public transport because of their age, disability or illness by allowing them to quickly communicate twith the bus driver.
Neil McCrae, partnership manager with HITRANS, said he hopes the card will “dramatically improve peoples" journeys.
He added: “The aim is to remove the stigma for those with mobility requirements, making their journey safer and more enjoyable. We’re at the roll out stage at the moment, but we’ve already had very positive feedback.”
