When I visiting a customer last week she advised me of an eco plug which can be obtained at Morrison’s. 

This device uses a remote control and allows individuals to switch off plugs etc without having to do so at the socket.

So could be useful for difficult to reach sockets and as an energy saving.  It costs £5.99 for the unit which can control up to 4 items and additional units can be purchased.
