Can anyone please tell me whether there is such a thing that is a knife and fork in one.  I am finding it hard to hold knife and fork when eating and would prefer having it all in one.  If this is available where would i find one.

Hi Carole,

I've seen something that might be what you're looking for.  I've attached a link.

Knork - Knife & Fork in One!

Hi

Yes, you could also check out Nottingham Rehab supplies.  There website is www.nrs-uk.co.uk  They have the Dyna forks as they are called on page 246 of the catalogue retailing at £17.49 they are available for left and right hadn users.

Jane

Hi Carole,

I do not know whether you have found your fork/knife, but if not, I would agree with David below re: a Knork Fork. The write up about it in the NRS catalogue is: "it is a fork with a wide, rounded and bevelled outer edge that will safely cut food like a knife, without a sharp edge to cut the user". Suitable for both right and left handed users.

Best wishes,

I have purchased this knork and so far it seems to work ok.  My only complaint is why does everything seems to cost so much for special material for disabled people.

Couldn't agree more!  We had loads of examples of this in our workshops last year.  We also had some great ideas from people that had found cheaper alternatives in trade catalogues like screwfix - although I don't think this extended to cutlery.  Maybe some of the camping shops would have something that wopuld do the job?
