I am quite infuriated by the major supermarkets having their chip and pin machines bolted down to the bracket.

I am finding it impossible to reach them, and importantly, its nt very private either!!

In the past you could take them off the bracket to use, but, in their wisdom, supermarkets have now bolted them in to a frame.

After explaining to one supermarket manager the difficulties faced by many disabled people I was assured that this would be addressed.. still waiting!!

Anyone else had this problem?? I will be emailing supermarkets to try and get something done. Its only a tiny matter of using an allan key to release it from the bracket so it can be lifted down.. Simple!!!

{sigh} Another example of simple thoughtlessness. I'm sure supermarkets don't have it in for us. Yes, I've also noticed the problem. I carry a few postcards with me, pre-printed with my contact details, and when I come across something that might easily be changed for the good I get one of the staff to scribble down a note on one then hand it in. By giving a "formal" document like this I find the chances of getting a response from management somewhat higher than if I just make a verbal request to staff. Mind you, the results are not always any better :(

On occasion, I admit I've also used them to make somewhat testier complaints - such as the time I stuck one on the windscreen of a very much non-disabled motorist's car after she had yet again taken the only free disabled parking spot for her jeep .. on the basis that the spot was right outside her hairdresser's shop and she didn't have to walk too far on her nine inch heels!

As I said .. {sigh}.
