bespoken campaigns are about making areal and significant difference to people’s lives. Through social media bespoken recently connected with Jennae Bezuidenhout at Access2Africa.
Jennae is trying to create a stimulating outside play area for disabled young people at a local school in South Africa. Jennae sets out what they are looking for in her own words below.
What can we do? Does anyone know a company that could help with design? Do you have any experience or contacts in this area?
Let us know by replying below. Let’s see if we can make this happen.
From Janae...
Thank you so much for this invite and bespoken sounds wonderful. I will definitely be joining!
You mention about design and development and one of our projects dear to us is a special needs school out here in the rural area. (We are in South Africa close to Hluhluwe Game Reserve in Kwazulu Natal).
Until recently the classrooms were poles with canvas over it. There are about 90 children some of which are in wheelchairs and generally across the board disabilities. We are looking for someone to assist us to design a truly inclusive jungle gym for them that is wheelchair friendly and suitable for all disabilities.
As you may be aware a jungle gym does wonders for coordination and balance amongst other benefits. At the moment they do not have any stimulation or sports equipment. Most of them are boarders which means they sleep in two huts on mattresses at night.
I need to find a designer and once the design complete then I can start sourcing funding. They are amazing kids! I recently arranged 100 free meals at Wimpy which most of them have never been to.
Warm Regards
Jennae
